The goal for this project was to capture the allergic realities of people suffering chronic rhinitis by using an ethnographic approach.
We conducted interviews and group sessions with sufferers of intense allergic rhinitis about their attitudes and feelings around the disease. The research included the participant using and providing feedback of the proposed design to deliver the medicine, with comparisons to existing devices, spray quality, color, overall perception, etc.
The results of the study informed communication strategies as well as suggestions to the refinement of the spray delivery device.
A major producer of chemicals and adhesives suffered from a low hit rate of new products combined with increased competition from foreign and small local companies.
We conducted an assessment of their current innovation capabilities and found a low collaboration rate, secrecy / poor information sharing, no innovation strategy and an unsystematic approach to innovation.
An in-depth understanding of their corporate culture helped us craft an innovation strategy and design an innovation process which was implemented successfully through training and pilot projects. As a result we helped them double the frequency of new product launches and increased the hit rate/impact of those products by 20%.
Our client, a technology company in the process of marketing its own line of products, has detected an untapped opportunity in the base of the pyramid: the education business.
80% of the population without access to technology is proving to be a huge opportunity reserved for those who understand this market and are willing to envision novel strategies based on in-depth research.
We have an ongoing interest in researching the needs and meanings around education in Latin America from different points of view (i.e. parents, administrators, kids) and translating these insights into innovative technology concepts and marketing strategies.
